Cold, cold, cold!!! The day of the show, the weather tookl a turn for the terrible...-18 degrees in the sun, to too surprising for a mountain but a little cold for the city boys. All that aside we had a great show, and a ridiculous time in Whistler full of beer and good food. Thanks to everyone that came out to see us at Garfs...we will see you agin soon.

Wow the double header. Willie Kuklis and the Disappointments will be playing at the Roxy on Monday, September 11 2006. The doors open at 7:00pm and the show starts at 8:30pm. Tickets are available through the band and cost $5.00. Email Willie if you need tickets to the show, and he will tell you how to get them. We hope to see you there!!

The Verdict:

The Roxy always rocks!! We always have such an awesome show when we play there, the sound is probably the best in Vancouver (thanks Randy). If you weren't there you missed a hell of a show full of wonder and delight. And one of my favorite things when playing at the Roxy, is the Falafel house...two doors down on Granville street. My little tradition is to go and get a chicken shawarma right after the show, and this is some of the best in Vancouver. The sound was great...and the shawarma was too, hope you didn't miss it.

Willie Kuklis and the Disappointments will be playing at the Backstage Lounge on Granville Island on Sunday, September 10th. The Backstage Lounge is located at 1585 Johnson street. Tickets are $8.00 at the door and the show will run from 8:00pm to 11:00pm. We will be playing with an awesome singer/songwriter from Vancouver Jess Hill. Come down and join us for an ice cold beer, and perhaps a foot rub from Chris...and dont forget the music. See y'all there.

The Verdict:

Wow what a gong show!! Unfortunetly we needed to push the time of the show back because of the Fringe Festival that was going on during our show. So needless to say, all the people that did come out to see us play had to spend a few hours drinking...which would usually be a good thing, but on a Sunday night, not so much. Jess Hill was amazing as usual, and we will have her play with us again soon. Anyway thanks to all of you that did get out, we had fun and we hope that you did too.

We hope you can all make it out to hear some of the new tracks, and say hi. We'll see you then.

The Verdict:

Aside from all of the technical difficulties that we experienced...ALL NIGHT LONG, the show was a great time. Not only did we have some instrument malfunctions, we also managed to put the wrong address on all of our advertising, so we appologies to all of you who went to the wrong place. Who knoew there were two places with the same name...on the same street??? Well I guess we all do now. C'est la vie (thats french, and hopefully spelled correctly). Well we hope to see you all at our next show, this time we'll get the address right.

The Verdict:

I had a really great show at the media club opening for the amazing Craig Cardiff. Unfortunetly Jack Connolly couldn't make it out, but Craig and I rocked the house, for an awesome crowd. If you've never been to the Media Club, you should really check it out. It's such a cool venue and the room has a realy great sound for live music.

I always love playing at the Railway club, there's just something about the room and audiences that makes it just awesome every time. Willie Kuklis and the Disappointments are playing at the Vancouver International Airport on Wednesday Novemer 23rd in the domestic arrivals area from 8pm to 9pm. We'd love to see you so come on down.

The Verdict:

Willie Kuklis and the Disappointments rocked the arrivals area of the airport. It was a very interesting show, as I'm sure you can all imagine. I would say that the airport is not the idea location for a show. There were a lot of strange looks, and a few people dancing dancing in baggage claims. Needless to say we had a great time.

November 4, 2005

Willie will be playing at the White Hart Pub on Gabriola Island on Friday, November 4th. The show starts at 9:00pm and goes until 1:00am. Willie will be playing with Rodney Decroo.

The Verdict:

Other than the show being billed as "Country Night" Rodney and I had a great time on Gabriola. Of course our audience was expecting the opportunity to put their cowboy boots on and two step to the "Boot-Scootin' Boogie", unfortunetly nor Rodney or I play the "Boot-Scootin' Boogie". We won them over...eventually.

September 12, 2005

Willie will be performing at The Backstage Lounge on Granville Island on Sunday August 14th. The doors are at 8:00pm and the tickets are $6.00 at the door. Willie will be performing with Tiffany Poirier, and Benjamin Keith.

The Verdict:

I had a good time playing the Backstage lounge, I always do. It was on the other hand aparticularly hot night in Vancouver, and I think I lost about 50 pounds in sweat alone. Some new pictures of this show, and other stuff will be posted on the Photos page shortly.

Willie will be performing at the ArtsWELLS Music Festival in Wells, British Columbia. Willie is slotted to play on Monday.

The Verdict:

AH WELLLS, my second home. I had so much fun last weekend, a ton of great music and great people. I played two shows over the weekend to very receptive audiences. I did catch a few performances of musicians that were just brilliant. Rodney Decroo, Linda McRae and Rae Spoon played a show together in Barkerville, and I count myself so lucky to have seen...at least part of it. These three blew my mind, check them out. While I was in Wells, I also met the fantastic Sheryl MacKay from the CBC, so stayed tuned to North by Northwest to hear my interview.

July 8-10, 2005

He is looking forward to having a great time and meeting new musicians from across the province and the world. We'll let you know how it goes.

The Verdict:

We had a lot of fun during the Edge of the World Festival. A lot of awesome music and great people, and food. The weather, on the other hand was interesting. We had to deal with torretial downpours, but it was fun to watch the grounds become a giant puddle within minutes, while playing on stage (Check out the picture on the photos page). Needless to say we all had a good time, and I look forward to going back next year. I did have a great conversation with Christa Couture about being a "neo-folk" artist and I think I may change my genre to "Folk Noire".
